Activities

  • PREVENTION OF SAFE MIGRATIONĀ Accompanying people in a migratory situation, especially in border cities.
  • OASES OF GROWTH AND RECREATION.Ā We see the need to start a new way of working towards children, which will promote more family participation in the development of girls and contribute from open spaces to the development of skills and capacities of girls and the family.
  • EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN. Promoting the empowerment of women will have a multiplier effect that will transform their environment and generate the repositioning of their rights and respect for them within the social sphere.

The province is currently in the process of revising its works and designing new models of intervention, in accordance with the three areas of attention of the PEM.

COUNTRY BACKGROUND / OVERVIEW

The original inhabitants of Mexico date back more than 10,000 years. The Olmec, Teotihuacan, Mayan and Mexica or Aztec civilizations that occupied large territories and developed their civilizations. In the 15th century, the Spanish arrived, subdued the local indigenous people and created a viceroyalty, which lasted until 1821, when Mexico won the War of Independence and the First Mexican Empire was created, giving rise to the First Federal Republic.

“POVERTY: Mexico has nearly 130 million inhabitants, 62.25 million live in poverty, and 10 million more are in precarious situations.

VIOLENCE: Violence against women: 2,173 women have been murdered in 2019.

ANALFABETISM: There are 4.7 million illiterate women in Mexico, and the CNDH says that four out of every 100 men and six out of every 100 women over 15 years of age cannot read.

MIGRATORY PHENOMENON:

– Population movements between the states of the Republic.

– Migration of population in transit, mainly people from Central and South America.

– Mobility of nationals, who mainly travel to the United States with the purpose of accessing better jobs”.
